I am getting into making kits and doing loads of LOs and wondering how you become a CTM somewhere and how do you get your kits for sale somewhere - like how do the designers that have kits for sale here, get them for sale here?

One of the creative teams I'm on I found out about through a mailing list. The other I liked the designer's work so I contacted her and asked if she had a team.

As for selling products, I don't know how that works at SBB. I know they have a lot of interest and limit space. The way I did it was to start my own store... I know thats not possible for most people though. I would suggest contacting various store owners, you never know who may be contemplating a new designer...
