Need Computer/Graphics Help ASAP!

I'm trying to make an ABC album and have it printed by Friday night.

However, some of my photos seem to be corrupted. When I try to pull them off my DVD, it gives me the following: 'Could not open D:\\filename\file.jpg because a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete).'

What does this warning mean, and can I fix it? Please help! TIA!

OH no! It sounds like the disk didn't complete the file(s) during burning process. On my dvd burning program it says to not have any other programs running during the burn because it may cause errors in the process. Can you check the disk on another machine?

how frustrating

Try the DVD in a different CD rom

i dont know what else to say but, if you still cant get it after trying everything you can possibly think of, you can try to find a free data recovery tool. just do a search in google for DVD data recovery

goodluck!

Another thing to try is opening the file in your Web browser. If you can open it there then the corruption probably isn't too bad and you should be able to recover the image. If not then it's not such a good story.

Thanks for the advice and well wishes.

I tried opening the photos in my Web browser (no go) as well as tried to run a recovery program on it (no go). I will wait until DH gets home to try out my DVD on his laptop. If that doesn't work, I have copies on a CD of the older photos and the newer ones are on my hard drive, so I would lose approximately 25-50 photos or so total, hopefully, which is not a great travesty, just upsets the anal-retentiveness side of me that wants to keep every photo it's ever taken. I would not, however, be able to get the ABC album done by Friday because that CD copy is in another state.

Thanks again!
