In an attempt not to have anymore pages printed out at a very odd looking 12 x 18, I'm guessing these steps will get me 12 x 12 pages with two 6 x 6's at the bottom.

1. Open a new image and size it at 12 x 18.

2. After saving psd file [layout] as a jpeg at the highest quality possible................

3. Drag it onto the new 12 x 18 canvas.

4. Save two more as 6 x 6 highest quality possible jpegs and drag them to the
bottom of the strip.

Do you think I've got it correct now?

Thanks to info shared @ SBB I knew to choose 'no color correction' and the quality was great!
