Your best bet will be to get a wrapper of the bar you chose, carefully open it and measure it. Let's say it is something like 8x6 or something (just a guess). Just start a new image in your graphics program, designating that size and a dpi of 300. Then design it and print it. If you have the option of printing crop marks, do that so you can cut it carefully. I don't think it will matter how you attach it - dbl sided tape sounds good but you could just as easily use a glue stick. If I were printing it, I would try to get glossy paper just because that's what the bar wrappers are on, but really any paper would be cute. HTH.

this is probably a stupid ? but when designing it, how do i figure out how to leave enough room for the part that folds over and will be on the backside of the bar?KWIM?

Yeah that's a good question. I say, get out your real life ruler again and measure the candy bar and see. Does your graphics program have rulers that you can view on the screen? If so activate those and you should be able to get a real good idea for what should go where. You should just probably use the actual wrapper and measure where the overlap falls as well as how far down the front of the label starts and use these measurements as guidelines for your project.

my sister makes these, they're very cute. I've never done it, tho!

I'm going to a digital scrapping/computer crafts convention in October, and I'm excited to see how to do all these types of computer crafts that I've never done. Will be very interesting if I can catch any of those demos while I'm not teaching.

have fun, love these as party favors and baby announcements.

I have a software program at work that makes candy bar wrappers. In all honesty, I'd rather use Photoshop. The software is a PITA.

Dianne had the best advice though. Measure the candy bar wrapper you want to use, and use one as a template. At work, we use 24lb paper and glue sticks and that seems to print fine to stick them together. Good luck!
