I am truly addicted

Okay, one of the reasons why I thought digital would be so great was because I spent so much on my paper supplies. I had planned on only getting freebies, except for Gina Cabrera's fall/Winter cd which got me intrigued in the digital world in the first place. The problem is there is just so much great stuff out there and I find myself unable to control my shopping sprees of great, inexpensive kits. I have bought several more things since my Gina Cabrera "one and only buy" cd, including several other cds by great designers. I guess I must truly be hooked. I find myself thinking of pictures I can take that will go with the great kit I just bought instead of looking for a kit that will go with the great pictures I have. Thanks to all of you designers who design such great stuff (although I think my DH doesn't thank you )

As far as addictions go, this is not a bad one to have. At least, that's the way I rationalize it, Shawnery. I'm always looking at the kits and figuring out which photos I have to go with them rather than digging out the photos and deciding which kits would look nice with them. I think we're in the right place to feed our addiction.

Lol, shopping and buying the kits is only the start of the addiction, there is also constant downloading, sorting, organizing and labeling files, burning backups etc. Then there is the scrapping, saving, uploading and chatting about your layouts. Too much fun!!

I have the opposite addiction: I can't bring myself to use premade elements. Partially 'cause I'm really a backwoods do-it-yourself neurotic, but also because I'm a total cheapskate! And I work at a place where I get all the store stuff I want for free, and I've never once used it!

Just remember that you will be able to use the kits you bought , again and again and again. Unlike with paper, where once you use it, it cant be used again.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm crazed - I just discovered the digital scrapbook world this month. Sad though - I've spent more time downloading and then organizing than I have actually scrapping

I fall in the middle ground here so thought I would quickly voice the view from there. At first I vowed only to use freebies but I cannot resist the quality work of some of the designers. On the other hand, I know how to do enough of my own stuff that I won't buy a kit unless it has things in it that I can't do. There are lots of things that fall into that category because I lack either the time or the talent (and sometimes even both, lol). Lately, I have tried just to buy elements but they are in extremely short supply compared to kits. I rarely want to use a single kit for a layout. One of the reasons I love the downloads here is not the price (I would pay if I had to) but because I can just download the buttons or the ribbon or the charms without the rest of the stuff that I will not use. But I do treat myself--a kit costs so little relative to the labour that goes into it and relative to what else $5 can buy. I love the way some of the kits are being marketed and some of them are so wonderful I feel like I am getting little pieces of art. Sorry for the babble but it is Thursday night and the store shelves have been stocked.

Shawnery -

You crack me up! I guess if you're going to be addicted - this is a good thing to be addicted to!
