I have been calling around and looking at prices for printing out scrapbook pages at 12 X 12 because I have a 12 x 12 scrapbook I need to finish so I thought I would print out my pages 12 x 12 until that book is full and then go to 8 x 8 or 8.5 x 8.5. I have heard that costco charges $3 which is a lot less than other places I have heard of. I don't have a card, but my MIL does and she said I could go with her so I could do that (although I don't know if they trim the 12 x 12 so I am missing part of my LO). I called Kinko's in my area and they do 12 x 12 pages, but for $10 The guy asked me whether I was trying to print my scrapbook pages and I said that I was. I guess his wife just started digitally scrapbooking and so he has looked into things for her. He said that Kinko's can do a 10.5 x 10.5 page for 1.98. His wife gets this print done and then mounts them on cardstock she has left over from her paper scrapping days. So I am not sure where I want to go. The cost difference is nice and I could mount the page on other cardstock, but I am not sure if I will like it. What suggestions do all of you have. I am still pretty new, so I am not sure if others have tried this or not.

I had great results getting prints made at Costco, but I was doing 4x6 mini LOs for my India album. If you submit your pictures online, check out the professional options, they will give you more information on how to correct your color and ensure you have the right number of pixels for the printer at your local Costco - mine wanted 320 DPI so I had to virtually remount all my LOs or have them enlarge it slightly, depending on the picture.

Submitting my pictures online was super easy, though I'm not sure if it's currently available in all areas - this way you can just send the MIL to pick them up and don't even have to give her your CD first!

I get my 12x12's printed at Costco for $2.99 a print and my 8x8's for 1.88. The trick is that they print 12x18's and 8x10's so what you have to do is make a new document 12x18 with a white background. Then drop your 12x12 LO onto the 12x14 one, this is the one you will take to get printed. You will have a 2 inch border along the top and bottom of your LO. Then I usually type in the white space below the name of the LO, kit or kits used,fonts used and anything else I want to make note of. Then when they are printed I use a paper cutter (I have one at home but my costco has one on the photo counter to use also) I simply crop the white borders of the top and bottom and then slip the piece that has the info behind my LO in my book so I can reference in the future if I need to. When you print their regular sizes it isn't a special order or anything. I am sure the guy was qouting you a price for a special order for special 12x12 sizing. I have been happy with the quality and color of my prints so far and I have printed about 20 LO's. I also love that I can get them in an hour

I just got two lo's printed at Costco today. They turned out really nice. I know they will do 12x18 for 2.99. So if you make a blank canvas that size then put your 12x12 on the top and resize it to 6x6 and copy that twice to the bottom of the canvas (you can give those to your Mother/Mother-in-law). that will fill up the 12x18 canvas and you all get three prints for $2.99 which makes it pretty cost effective. Also, Costco now carries Kirkland brand Photo Paper which is glossy 8.5x11 size. It cost around $19 for 125 sheets which makes it about .15 per sheet. I used it tonite to print a couple of lo's at 8x8 and it is SUPERB! I noticed it was a heavier gauge paper than even the Kodak they sold. So that's another option.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't realize I would need to put my LOs on a 12 X 18 background, so I am glad I posted this. Also, having 6 x 6 prints would be nice as well. I am doing a scrapbook of my nephew for my sister and I could print hers out on 6 x 6 rather than printing them at 8 x 8 at home so I can kill two birds with one stone. That is a great idea Karma2 thanks. Now I am excited, I better get moving on my nephews scrapbook though because I need to have those ready for when I start printing my stuff out.

I've had 3 LOs printed at Kinkos. My problems have stemmed from staff at the local store, but the LOs turned out pretty good. I think mine cost less than 3 bucks. I was told to use 12 x 18 on glossy card stock. I made a new .pdf file that was 12 x18, dropped my LO on the top & added 3 snapshots on the bottom of the paper 3 x 5 size to give to DH & grandmas for their brag books they carry around. The 10 bucks seems a bit high for Kinkos. I don't have a Costco around me, so I can't speak to that.

Hi...I am new to all this but I am sure I want to have my layouts printed. I am not sure how or in what program you can create the 12x18 document and then insert you 12x12 page. I want to upload my pages to Costco online to have them printed. Can you help me?
