First layouts - I'm addicted

Im not sure how to use forums, so I hope i get this right.

I completed my first digital layout last weekend, and within 24 hours I had completed 2 more. I have been doing paper scrapbooking for about 4 years, but am now addicted to digi scrapping - no more 2 year old fingers touching all my supplies. All of my layouts so far feature my 2 daughters, and im sure that they will be the subject of about 95% of future layouts.

I am totally addicted. I less than a week I have read a book about photoshop elements 3.0, read about 100 tutorials and am now designing my own kits - unfortunately it doesnt leave much time for scrapping.

I thank everyone for the comments they have posted, and would really appreciate any other thoughts people might have about my layouts -- good or bad.

Thanks,
Suzy

Sorry - i was so excited about my first post that i forgot to add the link to my gallery . Here it is:

what to read about pse3

Those are great. I too am just beginning and purchased PSE3 two days ago. What did you read/study to get started scrapbooking? So far, I've just played around by myself without much luck. Thanks.

Thanks for the comments . I have been doing paper scrapbooking for years, so that helped with layout and design, but in terms of using photoshop elements, I just used all the great tutorials out there. I did a google search for digital scrapbooking photoshop elements and got quite a bit -- there are quite a few on designing your first layout, as well as lots on specific things such as using drop shadows, etc. The tutorials here at sbb are great. Good luck - i would love to see some of your layouts when you get started.

Hi Suboo, Sorry i didnt give you the name of the book i have used, but i was away from home when i responded last night. The book i got was SAMS teach yourself Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 in a Snap. It runs through all the basics of PSE, including layers, drop shadows, selecting portions of images, tools, etc. It doesnt go into creating elements as such, but gives you all the tips you need to get started - i then supllemented that with what I learnt on the internet. The book also has a section on creating scrapbooking pages from their templates, but i havent looked at them yet. Anyway, I hope this is useful. Suzy

I love your LOs, especially the way you included your DDs favorite things at age 2. I'm sure she'll treasure being able to look back at her life in that way.
