How do you attach a paper clip to a pic???

I am new to digital scrapbooking and have the Adobe Photoshop elements program. Can someone please please please tell me how to create that paperclipped look with a paper clip and a picture in this program? Thanks in Advance for any responses!!

i don't know how others do it, but i lay the clip over my paper, use the lasso tool to cut away the part that i want "behind" the paper and then paste the part i cut out onto a new layer. the new layer i place under the paper layer and then match it up to the other part of the clip. this looks especially good with vellum because you can see the other side of the clip beneath the vellum. i hope that made sense. here's a layout i did to show you what i mean

The nice thing about digital scrapping is that there are several ways to get the same end result. I usually place the paper clip where I want it on my picture [on its own layer] and then just erase off the part that would fall to the back of the picture. A suggestion that I saw recently was to set your eraser to 60 or 70%, which would leave just a shadow that would look more realistic. I haven't tried that yet.
