Good News for Canadians

Costco will offer online printing services to Canadians.
I just had a phone call from a Costco manager in Winnipeg.
We will be able to upload photos to Costco.ca in the near future.
He said they will start in about 8 - 10 weeks. Winnipeg (my home town) will launch the service to train and test the operation, and then it will be launched nation wide.
Hurray!!!!!! Hopefully, everyone will be able to use this service by fall.

Thanks for the news.
Do you know if they will print 12x12? I would love to be able to scrap 12x12 instead of 8.5x11. There just isn't anything available for that were I live.

They currently print 12 X 18. You can print your 12 X 12 layouts, plus have an additional 6 inches to print individual shots.

Sorry but I am in manitoba too but I have to stick to photolab.ca, because it's great and bonus is I am a photo lab supervisor for westfair. Plus I don't live by a costco.

I recently paid $3.99 for 12 X 18 layouts at Costco. You can get this service now if you go to a Costco that has a photo lab. This is just an expansion of the service, and as Katherine mentioned, Photo Lab also offers online service to Canadian customers. I'm excited about this because I know we will all benefit when there is some competition going on in this field. I remember when I used to have to pay 79 cents each for digital 4 X 6 prints, and now we can get 19 cent prints in places that offer prepaid plans.

I went to my Costco yesterday and asked if they printed anything 12x12 and they said they couldn't do that. They have a photo lab right there. I'm a bit confused. When you take files to Costco are they printed just like a film photo on photo paper?
I would love to do some 12x12.

They are photo quality prints done on fujifilm paper. I have been pleased with the quality.
It sounds like you are having some of the problems I had a short time ago. They do not print 12 X 12's. You have to create a layout that is 12 X 18 ".
Then, you will set your completed 12 X 12 page onto the 12 X 18 layout. You will have six inches left over where you can add some digital prints, enlargements or whatever you want.
They can help you work this out so make them do so. I wasn't happy so I complained, and I got a couple of phone calls to make it better. I was told these are very simple questions to answer, and they get them all the time, so if you encountered a clerk who couldn't/wouldn't help you do your 12 X 12 layouts, you need to speak with someone else. Tell him / her that you know they can do this...mention the 12 X 18 pages, and ask to speak to someone else if they still can't help.
Go to the Costo.com website and see how it has been set up. You will learn lots there about how you can format your files so they print out correctly. This info is supposed to
be up and running in Canada soon when they launch the online uploading service. I hope this helps.
