Smile Newbie Intro

Hi,
I just registered tonight and real excited to learn how to do scrapbooking. I always want to learn but never took the plunge yet. I have a hard time getting started when I want to learn something new. I currently know how to use PSP 7 and in the process of learning Photo Impact. Do you think that these two programs will be sufficient in creating scrapbook pages?

I live in Maryland with my husband and we are both retired. We have two gorgeous grandsons. And six cats!

I really need the very basics on where I should begin. My printer does not print out 12x12 page size so what is the best layout size?

Looking forward to sharing my first layout but I need some time to create. I dabble in lots of activities so I will not be able to devote all my time to scrapbooking. But I plan to give it my full attention until I feel confident in what I am doing. All of your help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome! Either of those programs should be great. There are tutorials (and links) for both in the tutorials section.
If you want to print from home you can do 8x10. Or, you can get 11x11 printed at Kinko's for 1.99 if you want to do that size (8x10 is 1.49).
Prepare to be addicted!

Thank you Amanda for your quick reply. I will keep Kinko's in mind for larger scrapbook pages. But I think I will start with the 8x10 size until I am more familiar with scrapbooking. Oh boy another addiction, lol.

Talking Hello & Welcome Fran!

We hope you will enjoy your time here!

It's such a fun site full of great people!

You sound like you are well on your way with your programs and with the info Amanda gave you (I also do my layouts in 8x10). I've never had one professionally printed (we don't have anywhere close to get them done)....... but am looking forward to getting a new printer soon!

WELCOME AGAIN!!!

Thank you Tina for the nice welcome. I just bought some nice
soft sheen photo paper to use for my first layout. I hope I like the paper.
