Changing the Color of "elements"

Well, now that I have downloaded the elements, I was wondering if you could color them. When I tried this with the "Chalked alphabet" it just filled in the entire rectangle...all the details lost.
I noticed a layout in the gallery using different colors for the alphabet...is it possible or do we need to create our own?

Thanks again....you guys are great!

hi there- i have a lo that was one that used a colorized version of amanda's amazing chalked alphabet, to get the alphabet colorized without losing the details you need to reduce the opacity of your color fill, down to something like 45 % or so, you might have to play around a liitle bit to get the right color.
hope that helps.

Opacity?

Thanks for taking the time out to answer.

Ok, I am not finding that "button" (Opacity)in my menu. I am using DIP (Picture It)- Do I need to alter the alphabet in PhotoShop?

Thanks again!!!

i use photoshop elements, so if you have that available you might want to try that.
i have dip too but i've never used it for anything other than playing around with my photos, so can't tell you how with that, but if you still can't figure it out i could give it a try

In DIP you can adjust the color by adjusting the hue and saturation or by using the tint tool.

Thank you!

Amanda,

Thank you! I read this post and I've been having such a great time adjusting the hue and saturation (works in PSP too) to recolor many awesome elements (including your twistel - which I've used a couple times already).
