printer dilemma
I went to several office supply stores yesterday to get cannon printer paper because I had heard that you need to have the correct paper for your printer. Well, none of my local office supply stores had cannon paper, so I chose a couple of different brands, hoping that one would work. None of them worked on my printer, however, one of the brands I bought was HP and I happen to have an HP all in one that I had thought previously didn't do a great job in printing, but I decided to try it with this photo paper and it worked great! Besides the colors being a little off, the prints came out really good, even more crisp than my more expensive new printer actually. So now I am in a dilemma. I just spent quite a bit of money (I mean it was cheap for a printer but still lots of money if it doesn't even print as crisply as my HP I already had) for a printer that I can't find the paper for, which doesn't even print as crisply as the HP I already had. On the other hand, the HP only prints up to 8X8 and I have a 8.5 X 8.5 album. The HP semi-glossy photo paper is about 1/5 the price of the matte finish paper I use for my cannon, but the printer cartridge is all colors in one where the cartridge in my cannon is three different cartridges for the colors, which I have been told is better cost wise. Anyway, after all this writing, I will get to the point, what should I do, use my HP or my cannon. And if I choose to get rid of my cannon, which I just bought, what do I do with it. I don't want to lose all the money I spent on it if I am not even going to use it. It seems to me like using my HP would be cheaper in the long run, even if I have to change a color cartridge before all the colors are used up, and I can get the paper and supplies at the store right next door to where I live! I keep thinking maybe it would be best to just use the HP and tweak my LOs with a levels layer or something to be able to get the colors to print correctly on the HP (which is something I had to do with my cannon, so there is no difference in whether color comes out more correctly on one machine than the other). I really liked being able to print 8.5 X 8.5 papers though. It looks kind of funny to have a white background around the edges of my page. Okay, sorry, I will stop writing, I think that I have expressed my dilemma well enough for everyone to see it. I would love any advice that you all have for me.
