Comment thread tangent - Tell us lots when uploading!

I've been participating in the lively thread about comments. I love to spend time in the gallery and leave comments behind. I'm amazed at how many wonderful LOs are uploaded every single day!

But, for me it's disappointing when there is no additional information about the layout in the description. For example, it the layout shows a cute child....I like to know who it is and any other special things about it. You know...the background information. And the more the better. Not only does it make it easier to make relevent comments, but it also helps us get to know one another better. So, don't be shy...explain who, what and why you scrapped it!

I agree, it doesn't have to be overly personal stuff as we all know about that and the internet. But to read about what is going on in the photo's, and why a certain LO is made if there is a special reason, funny moment, loving moment.
I know I try to write about what is going on in my LO's, some times I feel like it is wrong to add the extra reading stuff... but I guess to me it makes them more personable, so others viewing my LO's get a feeling as to what I/My Life is about!!

Example is my last uploaded LO of my daughter, possing and playing softball at the same time!! I am the only one that knows why the smaller photo at the base of the tree, was on the LO if I hadn't added my comments about it!!

Thanks for listening to me ramble!!

Thumbs up

I agree with this!! I have been spending a lot of time looking through some wonderful layouts. I love it when there's an explanation or little story with the layout. I try to do that with all the layouts that I upload. When I first started uploading into the gallery, I wasn't quite sure what to say. It's a lot easier now. They are fun to read.

Oh, I so agree! I just love a good story and usually a layout is telling a story...what's with the layouts that you can't understand or figure out the story. Even more so, when there are words on the layout that I can't see enough to read... gotta quote those words in the description so we can all get the full meaning of the layout!
Great post Karen...thanks

I agree wholeheartedly! I just love getting the CK and SS mags... I read them for hours because I strain to read the tiny print (journaling). I know it makes me feel good when friends read my pages to learn the 5W's and H

PS: Another thing that's a bummer is when I really love something that they used: an element, a background, or such and there's no info at all as far as the name of the kit or even the creator...

digi scrappin community

I couldn't agree more. We are part of a digiscrappin community sharing a little about our LO's and our lives helps to bring a sense of community and is a good way to get to know each other .

I so agree with this thread. It is so disappointing to open up a gorgeous LO and then find nothing about it. On the other hand, I posted one just now that I debated over and over about as I felt it was much too long. The journaling is long on it and you can't see it at all on the low rez upload. Then I found this thread and felt much better about it.

Hi Yvonne,

I haven't forgotten you! I have a sinus infection which has caused a migraine. I have been on the net for a little while but see now that I'm going to have to get off again. Ho Hum . . . I will write very soon though!!!

Hugs,
