I use PSP9 and don't have any trouble. I clicked on your link, but nothing came up. I resize my layout to 72 resolution and 500 by 500. JPG the layout and save. I hope you figure it out.

How are you saving the image?

First, go to Image>Size and type in 72 for the dpi, and then 600px tall. OK

Then go to File>Export>JPEG Optimzier and adjust the quality slider until the photo looks good. OK

Then do Edit Photo on the layout and upload the updated copy. Hopefully that'll help. Just doing File>Save As you can't preview the image, so no way of knowing what it looks like.

hth!

Hi I looked at your LO and they are great!! I think the thing you are asking about with the clearness/quality is more in the photo's then the elements/background papers. That makes me think it is possibly more likely then not it is the "quality" "resolution/ppi" on the original photo's. Did you have to do any clean up of the photo's before using them in the LO's? Did you run the Digital Camera Noise Reduction on them. I usually find this helps a lot on most photo's, maybe even use the jpg artifact removal. They almost look like they are sharpened??
Also it seems like fine point text gets lost easily, like the text of your tag of your little girl in the flowers LO. Making it a little thicker would help that.
As far a uploading it which you seem to have gotten down now just remember, that 500 pixels is 500 pixels no matter what the resolution. 500 pixels will always look the same on your monitor because pixels are all that the monitor can "see". You only use ppi (or commonly called dpi) to control *print* quality.
Here is a tut for Resizing LO's for the web.
