Now that I know you got a cheapie and not a wireless, the same thing happened to me. You need a new mouse. They get old too just like me. Mine did that and once I replaced it with another cheapie it has worked fine.

Leeandra, have you tried cleaning the tracker ball inside the mouse. Sometimes they can get clogged up with all sorts of stuff and that makes them go a bit loopy too. Otherwise, I'd say to try a new one out

I was having a similar problem and the thing that finally stopped it was to make sure the taskbar was locked in place at the bottom of the screen. I don't know why that ended the random cascades of goofy windows, but it might be worth checking. HTH.
