Brushes are images that you can "paint" or "stamp" with in your program. To give a real world example think of brushes as different tips on a pen. You'll get different results using different brushes. Some are meant to be used for free hand drawing while others work best as stamps that you just place here and there on your LO.

I'm not sure if HP's Scrapbook Assistant really uses brushes. But PS, PSE, PSP do and if I remember correctly DIP has the equavilent "stamp".

HTH!

I have Hp Scrapbook Assistant...while it is straight forward, it is also limited in what you can do with it. I would buy Digital Image Pro if you are interested in an user-friendly program. Just my humble opinion...

a brush is just a shape you can load into almost any graphics editing type of software to "paint" with.

you know how you can typiclly choose round or square and big or small, then pick any color and paint with that shape. a brush can be made from ANY shape. for instance you can draw a heart, save it as a brush, and now you can paint with a circle, a square, or a heart!

usually a brush would be used to either stamp a shape (like my heart example) or some brushes might let you make a textured effect (like fur or clouds) the cool thing about special brush shapes is because they are paintbrushes, you can create the shape or texture in ANY color that you choose to paint with!

hope that helps!
