Welcome!
With some of the elements that are grouped, you are just going to have to crop them down to the one you actually want to use. The creators put them all in one file and it would have taken forever for the administrators (who upload all the elements) to separate them all. So, you'll have to do it!
All of the elements should be on a transparent background. If you have a background on them, you probably downloaded the .jpg sample instead of the actual .png file.

Question Elements with Light blue Backgrounds

Help! I have downloaded several elements with the light blue backgrounds. Amanda said they should have transparent backgrounds, but some of the ones I have don't. For instance the postage stamp (found in SBB elements) I downloaded automatically saved as a bitmap file (no other options to save as) even though I followed the "right click...save as" instructions. Am I missing something?

If it is making you save it as a bitmap it sounds like you need to clean out your temp files. Do that and then try to re-download them. Let me know if that works!

Thumbs up It worked!

Amanda-you're so smart!!! It worked! There were so many files there... Thanks so much! I retried downloading the postage stamp and voila! it showed png as the file type. Now it those elements make sense...I was wondering how to get that dang blue background off so I could use the elements!

I wonder if this is a common thing...do you think it could be put in the Q&A or as info in the beginner's section so someone like me (before your help) doesn't have to search for an answer? If it's already there, then forgive me...thanks again!
