HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I've got a big problem and don't know how to get rid of it.. Don't even know how to make myselff clear but I'm going to give it a try...
When I started digiscrapping, (I never paperscrapped), I found SBB very quick. I wanted to make a book for my friend who was on a worldtrip and my idea was to make some kind of memory book of all the places she's been to. I bought DIP 9 and with some kits I started the book, which was very nice to do and the result was great. So from that time on I'm addicted to digiscrapping. I got PS CS and started using that in stead of DIP mainly because I saw some beautiful stuff here in the gallery.
I wanted to challenge myself and try other things than 'just scrap pictures is a nice way. More in the way of Dreamy scrapper and ShabbyPrincess that stuff.
But somewhere along the way I got confused... What I'm doing now is sooooo timeconsuming because I try things that I never did before (and I don't have any graphic background) and most of the times the results are not what I wanted in the first place and that dissappoints me. Okay now you're going to say: get back to your old way of scrapping, but for some reason it won't work anymore: I lost my touch...
So now I'm really stuck in the middle and really don't know what to do anymore. When I see the gallery it makes me kind of sad, because it also affects my feeling towards digiscrapping AND I DON'T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN !!!!
Is there anyone out there who recognizes this or thinks she can help me out!!! I'm desperate!!!

Thanks for listening!!

Hi,
What part of what you are doing is time consuming???
Creating your own elements, papers ect. or just creating a whole LO?

I know for myself, if I try to make everything for a LO myself, it is VERY time consuming and the results are usually very unsatifactory!!
I can create about one thing at a time and then I seem fine if I know exactly what it is I want to do, but I can not dream up all these great ideas/elements that I see others here create.

I think it would help if I bought a Magazine to look through and try some of those ideas!!
Sorry if this doesn't help, I am kind of stuck in that rut right now myself!!

Tracey

Everybody gets scrappers block at one point or another ..even paper scrappers! There rae a few ways you can try and get it over it ..scraplifting is a great way. Using lots of premade elements as well and maybe just challenging yourself to create one element for a page. Look at how you can already use things you have made to create new elements ( colors etc) you dont have to reinvent teh wheel every time. Pick an album subject ..like you did with teh disney book and make a start with a fav page you have already made as a starting point. There is no rule saying you cant use both DIp and PS at teh same time Also try creating a layout one day ..and then experimenting with ideas the next time.
Take the pressure of yourself and concentrate on another aspect of scrapping like jounaling or organising.
I hope some of these ideas help ..

Been there, done that! It is a dismal time! I got over it mainly by two routes: 1. I started doing crops. Speed crops. Forced me to think fast which ripped away a lot of the non-productive thinking and left the "essentials". Was very helpful in revealing to me my innate "style" (such as it is, lol). Some of the resulting layouts make me happy to this day but even the most abysmal at least left me feeling that I had done something and had a decent foundation for a layout.
2. I started doing the challenges. Again, offered me a tight framework. And again I found that a lot of my layouts had elements or themes in common.

Interestingly enough, for me, the result of having my wings "clipped" worked exactly the opposite of what might be expected and increased my output and creativity. I think it helped me define what my strengths and weaknesses are. I still succumb to my weaknesses (Lord knows, I have gone through many a wringer trying without much success to replicate a Cardee layout) because they are fun and they stretch me-- but they are FUN. Not sure if this is of any help or hope whatsoever but I do recognise what you are going through.

Thank you so much for your replies! There are a lot of tips in there that I feel could get me out of my scrappersblock!
It's nice to know I'm not the only one. I think what Shellerae said about taking the pressure of myself is a good one, I spend so much time searching on the net for new things to try out, in that time I ciuld have created a layout and now at the end of the evening I get a bad feeling because I haven't done a thing! So both your replies are definetely things I'm going to give a try!

Thank you!!
