It may not be a virus- it may be an spyware or adware thing. Try downloading adaware and run it. It will identify those types of problems.

In addition to adaware, you should also download spybot (gust google spybot. I downloaded my copy from c/net.com). Spybot is also freeware.
At my company, we have found that using both programs together gets better results in ridding the computer of those pesky bugs. (I work in the IT department)
