Scrapbook weekend - a surprise?

A group of us are going on a scrapbooking weekend in 3 weeks. One of the women's husband is surprising her. He is telling her to go out scrappin on a Friday night and then surprise, that afternoon he is going to tell her it is actually for the entire weekend. Me, I need to plan. I like to have a couple weeks to get stuff ready, organized, make sure I have pictures, pages planned, etc. If my husband did this, I would get nothing done and be irritated that he didn't give me more notice. I think he should tell her a week before. It is just as much a surprise then as it is later. What do you think?

Well, he should definitely get big points for planning this surprise for her. My DH never would think of doing that. I'm not great at scrapping in a group. I get even slower and usually forget to bring something important. Even so I'd love a weekend away.

Oh boy, the first thing that comes to my mind is what if this woman reads this board. Heck, with over 10,000 members you never know who is lurking.

Anyways, are we talking paper scrapping or digi scrapping? If it's paper scrapping I'd probably need a bit more notice. If it's digi scrapping I'd just need my hard drive and I'm ready.

I can see both sides... But hey, if he took the time to set this up, I would be more inclined to be happy than aggravated, due to the kind thought and such.... Plus, if she was already packing for an evening of scrapping, it is not too much to add more to that- especially since most scrappers I know over pack for a night of scrapping anyway!
