Question re: copyrighted material

I want to use some old-fashioned paper dolls in some layouts. I'm guessing that it would be fine for my personal use, but I would be prohibited from posting them in the gallery. Am I right?

These paper dolls are from the 40s & 50s, and they look so good with baby photos from that era.

My understanding (and what I believe is the general practice here) is that scanning any copyrighted paper elements is okay for personal use and you CAN post the LO in the gallery. Just make sure to say that you scanned the dolls in your credits.
