Smile HELP WITH FONTS!!!!

Hello! I am a beginner scrapbooking and I do not know a lot about anything related to the computer...LOL!!! I have my scrapbook 2 and photoshop elements 2. I love looking at layouts that use a big font (maybe 2 to 3 inches) mixed with other fonts. Is it possible to combine free fonts off the web that are TTF and use them in photoshop elements 2. It seems that 72 is the biggest in photoshop 2 and unless I am doing something wrong that is not a really big font. I really like all of the cursive fonts mixed with more simple fonts. I also have a CD with a lot of heritage fonts that are also TTF and I do not know how to put them on the computer and what program I can use them with. I do not have a word processing program on my computer as my work uses its own platform. Do I need to have one of them and if so how do I get that into the photoshop elements 2. Thanks a million!

Thanks for any help or advice.

Hi and welcome to the extremely addictive world of digi-scrapping! As far as 72 being the biggest size, you can manually type in a bigger size. Just go into the box and highlight and increase as needed. In order to use the TTF files, you need to install them. Different people have different methods. It's not good to have too many installed fonts at once so a lot of us will just install as needed. (I, unfortunately made the mistake of installing ALL of my downloaded fonts so I have over 1200 fonts on my comp righ now.) It's better to use a font utility (like the FontThing). There are lots of posts on that. Just go through the font forum and it's full of very helpful info.

Smile Welcome!

Marsha is correct, you can make your font just about any size with PSE (photoshop elements) you just have to type it in like she said.

Also, just so you know, when you are doing the journalling part and some fonts look like they have too wide of space between lines, you can change that too. It is the set the leading box at the top that usually says Auto. I discovered this the other day and now I can fit my text in better the way I want.

And one final font discovery you may not have made yet with PSE is the way you can use patterned paper with a large font for a title. All you do is type in your title, put the background paper above it and then hit Control-G and poof your title looks like it was cut out of the patterned paper!

Welcome to the world of digi-scrapping! Keep asking questions here and in the PSE elements section of the forums, you will be amazed at what you can learn here!
