This sounds like a really fun way to share your layouts and if it's compatable with most DVD players that is awesome!

I'd love to hear some more about how people are using this for of "album making"

VERY COOL!

I print some but not all. I burn to DVD for my parents and grandparents just in plain jpg format so that they can watch them on the DVD at home.
There is heaps of software out there that will let you do from the basics to the more elaborate with sound and fadeouts etc. XP will let you do this with PhotoStory software which you can download free from Microsoft. Even Picassa will do it

I haven't really done DVD slide shows yet, just too lazy to learn how. One thing I do is put my layouts as the screen saver on all our computers, and on both our ReplayTV units. Every time I pause a show, my scrapbook comes up. We look at the pages all the time this way, far more than if I had a printed album or slide show (which I do need to do soon...someday...)

A friend of mine has used the feature pre-equipped with PSE3 and she loves it - I personally use a software called PhotoJam and LOVE IT!

I print on occasion but do put all my LO's on our home server for family to view. They can then copy and print if they wish.

I use FlipAlbum to share my photos and layouts with my friends and family. I have not had much luck creating slides/movies but I think its a great way to share your photos with family members who do not own a computer. Maybe during this long weekend I can try to figure out how to do this using Microsoft's PhotoStory. Thanks for the link Shelleyrae.

I just tried Microsoft's Photostory - just put together 30 LOs & photos for the slideshow and burned them on a DVD. My 8 year old DVD player had no problems playing it. I guess the test will be tomorrow when I try to play it on my mom's DVD player.

Thanks for starting this thread and getting me to try something new. Next challenge is capturing movies from the camcorder to PC.

I don't know if any of you do any video of your kids too but for that I bought Pinnacle Studio 9 which is an amazing program for video. The cool thing for me is that you can also use stills so I just finished one with my son's scrapbook for graduation. I love it because I was able to add some great transitions, music, text, etc. I don't think I would go out and buy it for my scrapbooks but if you do video as well you might have a program already to do this.
