Terms of use for elements in Downloads section - SBB Digital Scrapbooking Forums | Scrapbook-Bytes

Hi! I'm very new to digital scrapping and recently found this site. I'm amazed at all the beautiful kits and page elements available to download from this site. I do have a question about them though. If I download a paper kit or individual element from the Downloads, can I use them on pages that I submit for publication (giving credit to the designer, of course)? I don't see any kind of Terms of Use or Read Me files that tell me what is okay to do and what is not.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that most designers allow you to use their work in something that will be published as long as you give credit to them and I think most like to be e-mailed with the details on where its being published.

Hi Karen
You will generally find a "read me" file within the file that you download. The above poster is correct (re: publication TOU) for most designers. If you are looking for further-use guidelines from various designers - you will find that a commercial guidelines list along with a publication incentive list has been set up over at promos4digiscrappers

I would like to mention that it would be great if everyone would "name" their read me text file something other then just readme.txt.
Add your name into the file eg. haleyspringkit.txt. I have ended up with so many readme.txt files and they want to overwrite the ones already in that folder. There are some who add a custom file name and that is so helpful when downloading to have these read me text files go smoothly without having to rename them ourselves..

It also ensures that the correct readme.txt stays intack with the kit and designer you are downloading!!

Thanks everyone! I e-mailed the admin of this site and they helped me contact the designer. Really fast reply times from everyone involved too. That was a huge bonus!
