I use PSCS and I'm no expert at blending, so I can't believe I'm actually going to attempt to answer this but ... here goes ...
To blend photos together, I have them on separate layers. On my canvas, I make sure that they are overlapping A LOT. Make sure your foreground/background colors are set to black/white. Then I add a layer mask to all of them and click on it in my layers palette to make it active. I use my brush tool, and with a large, soft brush, I paint on the mask (I think that's the terminology!), starting at 100% opacity and then tweaking it as I go - sometimes going as low as 15-20% opacity, depending on how much of the other photos I want to show through. If I make a mistake or blend too much, I switch to white and paint over those sections, which adds the picture back in.
