How To: ABR to PNG?

I use PSP 9, but I have several kits that have brushes in .abr which I can't use. There isn't any reliable way to turn them into PSP brush files. I can use PNG files, however. Is there any way to convert thr ABRs into PNGs? Or will I have to break down and buy Elements just so I can use the brushes?

Can you not just rename the .abr to .jbr for PSP?

Nope. At least not for PSP 9. I believe that trick worked in earlier versions of either PSP or PS, but not any more. Bummer.

What OS do you use?

I use Win XP and can change from .jbr to .abr no problem...or vice versa if need be. I just open the folder where I saved the file and change the file extension in the properties section.

Hopefully someone else here can give you some tips....as I'm strictly a Photoshop user now...

I can change the extension. The problem is that it doesn't WORK even after the change.

The only way I know is to open the abr in PS/PSE and stamp out each tip on a big image and save as a PSD file. Then open that in PSP and define each as a brush. A pain, and if you don't have Adobe, then you're outta luck!

Amy, would love to know if you have any tips..what's in the PM?! Huh, huh?! We wanna know too, LOL!

LOL! Just that! LOL

I told her that if she sends me the brushes I'd be happy to convert them for her Just as you said. Stamp them on a 300dpi image and then save it as png file
