Designing a two-page layout

When I design a two-page layout I treat it as one page (double width). After I've completed the layout I crop it so I have two individual pages to print.

Do some of you do something similar or is there another technique I haven't thought of?

Kristi

that's exactly what i do! but i asked once and some did two separate files, to keep it from slowing things down i guess. they just looked at them side by side. i can't imagine doing it that way, but then they couldn't imagine using one file either. whatever floats your boat! Ü

Yep, Margie...I'm one of the "odd" ones. LOL. I create two separate files and look at them side by side It has nothing to do with file size for me though...I just like to focus on one page of the layout without having to look at or worry about the other side, then when the time comes...I just plop them together for comparison. I can see why your guys' way would be easier, but my mind just has difficulty focusing if I did it that way. Weird...that doesn't really make sense, but so it goes

Plus, if you want things to match up exactly, it's easier with 1 big page.

i'm also weird! i do two separate files, lol. i don't know why- just never thought to put them together i guess. but it's coming in handy with the album that i'm working on right now. since everything is on the same basic layout, i have saved 'templates' so that all that i have to do is change photos, elements, and journaling. it's easier for me to do it this way, because i'm not working on the major journaling (the 2nd pages) at the same rate that i'm working on the 1st pages.

Hrm...I never thought about doing it all on one file. I always do 2-page spreads seperately. To make sure things line up I just make the windows smaller and butt the two LOs up against each other. I guess doing it all on one does seem easier...but screen space is so precious to me I don't think I could handle a file that wide!
