JPEG pics

If I am using a jpeg pic in my layout, everytime I save, the pic loses info., right???

If this is true, how can I work around this so that my picture does not deteriorate with constant saving of my layout?

save it as a TIFF or the native file extension of the software you are using.

Any imaging software should be able to open a TIFF.

sallie,
that's a very good question!! i knew this, but for some reason i was under the impression that i should try to avoid saving my pic over and over again as a jpeg. when i'm working on a lo, i always save as a .png. i save it once as a jpeg to post and then go back to the png version and save it again as a high res. jepeg to print.
while working on the layout, i save CONSTANTLY in png, does this hurt the quality of my pic?
