Help Please - My computer screen keeps turning Yellow

Hi Everyone

I really hope somebody can help me "like really fast". I'm in the middle of a darn deadline which is due in 48 hours (otherwise I'd take the blasted monitor in for repairs) but when I turn it on, for about 5 minutes it is all normal - and then whammo it gets this yellowish (fairly strong) overlay to the whole screen (sort of like putting yellow sunglasses on). Now it doesn't really bother me for typing and stuff, but to create layouts - ahhh lets just say color selection is impossible. This has only just started happening in the last 2 days.

Does anyone know what it is - or how I can give it a quick fix......

TIA

Trace

For some reason the monitor is not getting all the color signals. You can try unhooking the monitor cable from the back of the computer and reseating it to make sure it is properly connected. If this does not work then the cable is going out or the firing guns on the CRT are going out. If it's the firing guns, it would be cheaper to just replace the monitor because the CRT is 80% of the cost of the monitor HTH

MMM thanks Rae - why did I know that "replacing it" was going to be my best option EEEEEccckkkk.
It seems sporadic right now - changing back to normal for a brief amount of time.
But I'm so cranky cause the monitor is only 10 months old.....

As long as I get my deadline done - I'll be happy - then I might just have to kick the blazes out of the monitor LOL

Sorry, it definitely sounds like something internal to the monitor; i.e., the CRT. Check to see if you have a warranty on it. If so, they might just replace it. It actually should last longer than 10 months. I thought I was the one that purchased all the defective items (LOL). Here's hoping you have a long stretch of good luck now.

I have this happen with my computer at times too especially when I'm working on huge projects. I was told by a Computer guy that it's a good possibility that it's my Video card and that I should updater the Driver.
I would find out what Video card you have and update the driver~ See if that helps. It's free to update your video card driver~ Cheaper than replacing your monitor just yet. The reason I know mine is not from my monitor is that I've hooked the monitor up to my other computer and never had that problem. Since I've updated my driver I haven't had those problems.
