A quick sizing question

OK, I know to hold down shift when sizing but are you only sposed to use the corners for sizing-or can you use the ones on the sides also? I don't want to mess up the pics so that they look stretched or distorted.

even holding down the shift key while resizing you need to grab the corners so that your picture stays in proportion. If you accidently grab the sides instead, click the chain icon on the options toolbar and your picture will go back into correct proportion relative to the current width.

HTH!

oh, so do you mean that you really shouldn't use the sides at all to size the pic?

If you want your picture to stay in proportion, don't use the sides.

If I want a picture to be cropped differently, I usually delete it from the layout and recrop it before adding it to the layout. That way I can be sure I'm not getting things out of proportion.
