I think Kay should have this one ...some of us have been playing a long, long time and I too do not remember that reference previously. The fact remains that 'dreamery' is a valid word and should stand...my opinion

A little research and a little remembering--the Dictionary.com addition was made in Oct 2006 by Sara E who was frustrated, as I recall, with the obscure words. And we've been coping and pasting that in ever since.

So, I've been 'cheating' the past few years, have I, using Onelook.com?! Sorry, ladies...

I don't think so Pam...we really are creatures of habit are we not lol. My take on it goes way back when I first joined in 2004. If the word is a valid word why would we not accept it? I was not trying to create an issue when I asked it was just that because I had not played in a while I happened to go back and read the first post and when I say the reference I thought maybe there was a reason that we were only accepting that dictionary.

I do think it would be helpful to have one place where we all could look to verify whether something is a real word. I don't really care where that place is -- maybe OneLook if it's a compilation of sources would be good.

Okay...I am not being argumentative here BUT if we go with having a source to refer to then nothing has changed and your original first post stands..all we would be doing is changing Dictionary.com to One Look Dictionary. I am not saying that is wrong. I personally feel if the poster can show the source if asked to then it should be a non issue and the word should stand. That is my own opinion but I will support whatever you come up with.

How about I begin a new game--this one has run the longest of any word game I've ever play. And as long as you can show an on-line reference for your word, then we'll consider it acceptable.

Great competition, ladies, and discussion as well!
