Personally, I would think that common words from other languages that have been incorporated into the English language would be OK... what do others think? (Think sombrero, etc.) Does "senor" count? I don't know! (But I'll go with the majority opinion!)

The rules say the word has to be found in an English language dictionary online. I would THINK that if the foreign-language word had become common in English, it would, indeed, be included in such a dictionary. Try letting the person who starts the game set down easily-interpreted rules. I don't have a preference.

Senors is included in the One-Look Dictionary on line. A Spanish title of respect for a man; equivalent to English `Mr

I'm Sorry....I never meant to cause any uproar.......
I just check dictionary.com as a main source since it's usually the online standard......and senors didn't exist there....plus with it being in espanol

sooooooooo......anyway,,,,,,,,,,
I believe someone tried to play tenors off of senors .... so play from tenors

tenor

IMO an "uproar" is called for when a valid point is made. In this case, I don't think the real problem is whether foreign-origin English words should be allowed but whether the rules say they ARE or AREN'T allowed. I wonder whether it would clear up the matter were the originator of each game to set forth in the rules what will or will not be permitted.
