HELP! PSP X2 LOCKING

Jane, I know that you have PSP X2 and anyone else that has can you please shed some light. I can open the program but it locks on the screen so that I am not able to move it around or minimize it. I can keep working as long as I never have to move the screen. It is doing it almost continously now ..I have powered off and back on and it is still the same. Any ideas as to what I need to do to correct.
Thanks
Joyce

Hi Joyce what a time you're having with X2! Do you know if you have installed any updates recently, either to X2 or something else? Do you know when your first noticed it happening?

I'm sorry I'm not much help so far!

They are all boring questions I know but it can help to pinpoint what might have happened. Failing that I can only suggest removal and reinstallation. A bit of a bind but I can't think of any reason it would be doing what it's doing.

I don't know how well X2 has been running for you or for how long, so I am only guessing at these ideas.

Did you follow Suz Shooks Tip and Tricks when you installed it?

Maybe corrupt cache files: read this part of Suz's site: 008 Cache and Related Files

The locking up on start up almost sounds like it is trying to catalog your photo images, can that be set to look for these at random periods of time or if you have a lot of new files, like Check again in 30 days?

I spoke too soon...still doing it. I am using Windows XP so when I open PSP X2 I usually have a blue frame above the File Edit etc bar that gives me the name of the program and the name of the file I have open. When it opens now it does not have that bar and it is locked so that I can not move it around. Have to close from the bottom little icon at the bottom of the screen. I can't keep reloading it...any ideas?

Only that it doesn't sound like a PSP X2 specific problem - is your title bar (that's what the blue frame at the top is) missing on any other programs?

I did a quick Google and the common suggestion was to do a system restore back to a time when it was working. I've never done one myself, so I don't know how well that works. Usually when something like this happens it's caused by something else, installing a new program, or picking up adware/viruses, and it just makes things go wonky.

I'm sorry I haven't got a "proper" answer that will solve it immediately

Oh Jane ..I am up for anything that might help. It does not do it all the time which is strange and it never used to do it. This morning it is fine.. go figure.
I will do some further investigating as well. BTY it only does it with PSP X2 all the rest are just fine.
Thanks again
