PSP Apprentice Classes starting here!

Jane and I will actually be helping and teaching you to use PSP, You will become PSP Experts!
This first class is going to be making and saving a brush for PSP. Then do something with it....
The idea is to experiment and find out how many ways one single brush can be used in a variety of ways.
I am hesitant to even give clues because we want to see how you think outside your comfort level.

We will be posting our examples in the NEW PSP gallery to show them off to each other. I have posted just one idea of how you can take a brush and make something out of it besides just a brush!

You can find your starter pack here it includes two. png files so we are working with the same image. You only have to use one of then but you are encouraged to use both. There is a PDF file to read through and get a little help along the way. I also included two example images with PSP layers intact.

(This started pack will only be available for 2 weeks for you to download, no exceptions allowed due to bandwidth)

If you have any questions along the way please let us know.

Oh- this will be great. I started out in PSP X and was gaining alot in proficiency but moved on to another program. Have lost some skills so am hoping to be motivated to use it more often.

Well we hope we can enthuse all the PSP owners out there and show them how to make the most of their program: we just want to share our enthusiasm for PSP with everyone

Glad that we have some people showing up!

IN this thread please copy and past these questions to a new post and then add your answers.

Do you understand about resolution and 300ppi and how it affects how we create digital images for digital scrapbooking?

Do you agree to never refer to PPI as DPI from this day forward? LOL

Do you understand how to create a 12x12 inch new image @ 300ppi?

Can you think of a basic PSP question that you would like help with?

Is there something that you are just dying to know? (About PSP lol)

When asking a question please reply with the verison of PSP that you are using.

Are you ready to start thinking outside the box...?

Add any additional comments you can think of.....

Did I include enough info in the .pdf file to get you all started?

I know that it feels we are starting out with some very basic concepts here and for that I am sorry. So often I read posts asking for something that requires a more complex understanding of a technique and realize that the basic concept of how to get from point A to point B was not fully understood. That is the reason we are starting this Apprentice Class. Like my heart example in my first post...granted that is not a product that I would place for sale by any means. I completed it in about 4 minutes start to finish, but the steps to understanding come from playing and just knowing by doing A, B and C I can get to F.

Learning how to use any digital program to create or design in, is more then using just the programs basics. It is taking the basics and going further with your ideas. As we dig into some of these areas hopefully you will understand what it is I am talking about.

So with that I will stop rambling... LOL

Already got a question- PSP X. Was able to create a brush using the File>Export method and the Create Brush from Selection. But wasn't able to do the other option. All that pops up in the save dialog box is whatever brush was already selected. It was this option
Or you can select your brush tool to activate it. Go to the brush tip selection box #1
(where you would pick a new brush tip) and in the lower right corner you see two little
button boxes. Click the first one #2 and this will bring up the Create Brush Tip dialog box
where you can add the name #4 and info about your new brush along with setting the file
location where PSP will save your brush #3. When you are done click OK #5.

So just wondering what I might be doing wrong with that step.

Question 2
I was able to get your brushes from the store to show up in the drop down menu but how do I get my other folders of different brushes to show up.

Your Survey Questions
Do you understand about resolution and 300ppi and how it affects how we create digital images for digital scrapbooking? yes

Do you agree to never refer to PPI as DPI from this day forward? LOL Yes

Do you understand how to create a 12x12 inch new image @ 300ppi? Yes

Can you think of a basic PSP question that you would like help with? Getting my ohter Brush folders imported into the drop down list---for now
Is there something that you are just dying to know? (About PSP lol) Once I regain some skills would like to learn about scripts and using the vector tools
When asking a question please reply with the verison of PSP that you are using.

Are you ready to start thinking outside the box...? GASP. I'm an extremely right- brain thinker--I will have to think outside the box? GULP
Add any additional comments you can think of..... Do we make a LO with our creation or just post what we have created?
Did I include enough info in the .pdf file to get you all started? Haven't worked through it all yet but the steps after where I'm at seem sufficient
