Layer Styles in PSP X2

I like these although I do wish I had more control, especially when it comes to the Drop Shadow and manipulating that ball!

A word of warning though: you have to merge the layers where you have used layer styles before printing! I often print straight from the native psp format, rather than saving a jpg version of a page as well. When I was doing my Christmas Journal, and using Layer Styles for the first time on something I was printing I kept getting these odd gaps and it didn't look like it was supposed to.

It took me a while to figure out it was the Layer Style not printing: the clue came when an object I'd added a shadow to using the Layer Style didn't print at all, and I had to draw it in afterwards

Jane, about the X2 layer style shadows not printing. I have never thought about that before, but something very important to know!

When I saw the screen shot of the Layer Styles when PSP X2 first came out, I knew I would not like that ball instead of the traditional slider-number bars. I prefer using the numbers because there is more control that way. Have they done away with the slider bars in everything, or is it just in the Layer Styles? Just curious. I am sticking with X.

Yes, it's just the Layer Styles with odd controls, although only the Drop Shadow utilises the ball: the others do have sliders but no numbers to accompany them and make it easy!
