Transparant freebies turned black/white

I have almost the same question as ultragirl.
I just started digital scrapbooking and made some nice LO's with my PSP program, witch I love for years now.
Downloaded a lot of freebies to play with..untill yesterday psp died on me
Tried everything bud in the end had to re-install PSP again, okay no problem everything started working again.
I wanted to use my freebies again bud they all have black or white backgrounds or some alpha's/brushes/tubes are even distorted ....what happened, how can I change 'em back to transparent backgrounds?
It wasn't like this when I downloaded them!

Which version of PSP and after you reinstalled did you also do your patches is the version is 7 or 8?

I have no idea why your .png files would look like this.
Do they only look like this in PSP?
Do you have another program which you can view them in and do they look ok in that program?
I would only guess that something in your reinstall of PSP went wrong and you have a corrupt something or other. I have never seen distorted brushes or tubes in PSP. You just think that if PSP allowed you to have distorted brushes the whole program just wouldn't even start up correctly.
Sorry I can't be of more help, like I said I have never even read of PSP doing this before.
Why do you think that PSP died on you? Did you change something else on your system?
I am pretty sure that your .png's still have retained their transparent backgrounds because even if PSP crashed it didn't change all your files that aren't even associated with PSP.
Good Luck and let us know how it is going.

With 'died on me' I ment that when I wanted to open psp on my desktop,it told me that he couln't install the program.
That wasn't even my intention,he told me that the file wasn't on the harddrive and that I had to put the instalation cd in the computer.
Wathever I did,psp didn't work and kept me asking for the location of the file I wanted to install.
I didn't moved or deleted anything,weird húh...
Anyway I will try your sugestions and if you'll here from me if it works out okay
