Question Seamless Borders

I have had PSP for sometime but I am afraid I have just been too busy to use it.

I have the PSP 8 For Dummies as a reference.

I just saved two parts of one image from the internet and want to combine them into one 'seamless' image.

The closest I have been able to come is 'seamless tiling', but that only works on one half of the image at a time.

How do I merge them?

Hello, do you want a seamless tile that would fill a background page for the web? Or do you want to make your photo like your header banner so that you can't see the seam where you joined it together?

I would first start by creating a new image that is the size of the two photo's combined and then copy/paste the two images onto that new canvas. Merge all visiable and then run the seamless effect so it will change both images.

I would do the same steps to combine and merge two photo's together, new canvas, copy/paste as new layers the two photo's and then over lap them just a little if needed. depending on the photo's composite will depend on how much you will have to blend the two images together.

Thumbs up Thanks Haley!

Thanks for the tips Haley. **Yeah, the seamles tile was easy, but not what I wanted. *I finally got it to work, but the process of trial and error was so convoluted, I doubt if I could do it again.

I will see if I can do it your way. *I just wanted to put two halves together so I couldn't see the seam.

I can't seem to get this posted without a bunch of formatting codes showing up... *Hmm.

Haley, although I was able to get the job done I have a feeling that a few of the steps that are second nature to you were a problem for me. *Following your instructions to the letter had unexpected consequences.

If things work out I will upload the final (?) product, although there is room for improvement.

Comment: I think I got rid of the formatting codes.

LOL Jared I am glad you got it working and you are right. There are things about PSP that I just don't type (usually layers and selections, because I "think" everyone knows how to do certain little things) and that "we" just know how to do it because it is just the only way it will work in PSP and achieve the results that we are after! Sorry
I didn't want to get into a detailed set of instructions either, since I wasn't exactly which of the two ideas you were actually wanting to do and because so many times people will come post a questions and then never come back and say if it helped them or not and I spent an hour typing up the info
So thank you for your persistance in getting us a screen shot of your final image..it is looking really good and...congrats!
