Thumbs down Saving an image

I have tried repeatedly to edit a photograph and then to save the file. I have tried Save..., Save as...., and Save a copy...., A file name is saved with nothing in the file. 0 bytes. can someone suggest something. Using help, it seems to be intuitive to save a file, but it is not working. i am using paint shop pro 9. Thanks.

Have you tried making a duplicate of your original photo, making your edits on the duplicate and then saving it as a separate file?

I tried this. I saved as copy. I tried to open the new file and I get an error message that says the file cannot be opened. In windows explorer, the new file is there, but under file size is shows 0 bytes. In other words, PSP saved the file name only.

I have downloaded a trial version of PSP 11, and I am able to do what I wanted to do. It seems that the version I was using on my network at my work is not functioning properly. Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for your input.
