In PSP8, if you left click, the entire layer moves. You cannot move just the marching ants (selection area). If you right click, then change to the move tool, only the marching ants move so that you can reposition the selection area anywhere on the layer. I've tried it several times today and it is the RIGHT click that moves only the marching ants.

And if I don't change to the move tool, then all that happens is the selection is deselected. But I'm happy!! I can move the selection area. Life is good.
Yes, there are lots of "tuts" on the internet for PSP - but why aren't there any good books when I go to Borders? Judging from the number of internet sites that have "tuts", etc., there are a LOT of PSP users out there. I would think there would be a large enough audience for PSP that how-to books would sell reasonably well.
I have been told by someone who is a tester for PSP, that Corel intends to go mostly in the direction of photo editing, not drawing or creating graphics since Corel already has and sells Corel Draw and Corel Painter. That makes me sad if it's true. Paint Shop Pro was/is a great all around graphics program, not just a photo editor.
Anyway, I would love to see you get up a collection of tips and tricks and post them here occasionally. It would really be a great service to us PSP users. But don't forget us PSP
8 users if you do!! (I stick with 8 because that is what is installed on my computer at the office and they won't let me update it - new company policy about personal software - but they've agreed to ignore what is already installed, just no new installations or upgrades.)
