Why can't I save at 300dpi?

I have been trying to save some of my layouts/pictures at 300dpi and it will not let me.I am using PSPX. It's either taking FOREVER and shuts down or says I don't have enough memory which I should.
I am trying to use WHCC.com for some of my printing and they suggest saving it at the 300dpi. and size it to whatever size you want printed for the best results.

I am very new to all this and just trying to work out all the kinks, thanks to anyone who can help me. It is very appreciated!

When you made your new LO, did you do FILE>NEW and then select a resolution of 300? Assume not, right? So now, are you saying your attempting to do a FILE>SAVE AS and there is no way, that way to save as 300dpi right?

When you look at IMAGE>IMAGE INFORMATION, what does your image information say?

Might want to just open a new blank canvas with a transpartent background and 300 dpi and copy your old one over to it.

If you do a IMAGE>RESIZE, maybe you can dink with putting in 300 in the resolution there also.

I have mine set at a default of 300, so you might want to change your default so you are always working with that.

Believe if you search this site, I think I recall some good threads on the dpi subject. I don't have time to check right now, but I think I remember some good ones. Good luck.
