Corel Paint Shop Pro Thread, Save a element as transparent in Software, Programs and More; Could someone maybe tell me what Im doing wrong? Like I make a element and I want to save it ...

Save a element as transparent

Could someone maybe tell me what Im doing wrong? Like I make a element and I want to save it as a png so it will have a transparent background.I go to export as a png (By the way Im using PSP 8) and I save it as a png but when I open it back up it has the white background...How do I do this so it isnt there??? Any help would really be appreciated...Thanks

Hello, yes it sounds like you need to get all the updated patched for PSP8, you can find them here and they will install for you once you enter you PSP info.

you need to be working on a layer that is Raster (not Background or Vector), which provides for transparency.

If you do Export - png optimizer, on the Transparency tab you have to have "single color transparency" and under the Color tab, have "16 million colors" checked.

Check if those are properly set.

Hi. I had the same problem. I am working with psp8. Someone told me to try this and it worked. File>Export>PNG optimizer, then click transparency tab, check alpha channel transparency box, click ok. Hope this helps Mynikki
