I've never tried it, but I think that as long as the actual font file is open, it's supposed to show up in your program.

You can also store your fonts in a folder besides your computer's font folder
for instance in My Documents>Scrapbook Fonts

then you can use something like The Font Thing to temporarily install the fonts that you want to use for a layout

I have never done it this way either but I just tried it in PSPX and it worked. I went to my Font folder where I download my fonts, opened a font file countrycharm.ttf (the one where you can see how the fonts looks) opened PSPX and scrolled to find the Country Charm font and it was there to use. Then I closed the font file, and tried to use that font again and even though it's name was still in my font drop down list, my font was just plain ugly text!!

I keep my fonts in a folder in My Documents. I also have a program (it was free) called "The Font Thing (2). I can click on a desktop icon to open it and then can view all the fonts I have in my folder in My Documents. You can select a font in that program, minimize , and it will show up in PSP. I have had this program for about a year. Maybe someone else knows more about it. I use it all the time.

i have always done it the way tracey just did and i use psp 8 and 9. just open the font, then minimize. open psp and the font will appear in your text dropdown box for you to use in your layout. this has saved me the trouble of having to install a font i know i will only use a few times!
