Shapes Made Easy

Hey guys I was wondering if someone could show me how to replicate the attached image. I see things such as this all the time but have no clue on how they do it.

Also I have noticed that when adding text to any canvas it seems to come out blurry or not as crisp and sharp looking as something that was done is photoshop any reason for that or settings I can mess with. The smaller the font the worse it gets and I have seen real small font that is crisp and clear.

Thanx for the help

You can replicate that shape by using presets shapes or working with vectors in PSP.
You might have to combine two preset shapes such as rectangle and square and then pull out the two ends of the square using your nodes to make the tab look wider at the bottom where it meets the rectangle.

Text in PSP becoming blurry, almost sounds like a saving issue, what compression did you use, what file format did you use. It really can depend on a lot of issues and of course the setting that you have choosen.
Are you using Anit-Alias?? PSP can and does produce clean sharp text just like PS can!!

Hello again. Almost all of my images I save in png format. Anti-Alias I have no clue what it does so sometimes I have it on sometimes I dont everything looks the same to me. Maybe a slight change. These are the things I'd like to know I'm not new to the program or anything but I have no clue what half of the options do and tutorials for things made in Corel Paint Shop Pro X are hard to come by. Seems nobody is using it anymore. I use to go to tutorials pages for things that I liked and learn from there but it seems there is nothing new out there or updated.

LOL Oh trust me they are out there, that is the users and the tutorials alike!!

I don't really know where to start explaining PSP Tools do, I learned PSP all on my own by reading throught thousands of tuts and trying everything I could. I love to push buttons and see what happens!!
Anti-alias: Depending on your image helps to control the jagged edges of your image. This will be look different on your monitor all based on what your montior settings are, resolution used in your image, and the detail of your image. Just leave it on and you will be happier later on!!

There are very few tutorials out their yet for PSPX, but most all of the tuts all the way back to Version 6 will work in PSPX, with your knowledge of PSP you can usually easily find your way of converting them with the new tools in PSPX.

Yes sadly tutorial site come and go constantly, they are either under a new name or have just been lost forever!
I never run out of tutorials for PSP by doing a search on google, we also have a lot of threads here in the PSP forum that have many links to PSP tutorials.
My favorite site of course is psplinks.com, if you notice the whole list on the left hand side it will take you to I would guess 1000's of different sites that have PSP knowledge!!
Another thing is you can go to the Corel site and look for a link to newsgroups and find the one for PSPX, subscribe to it and right there you have the real PSP Pros right at your finger tips!! LOL I am in there also, not saying I am one of the Pro's at all, but they have taught me sssoooo much!!

Boy, I've never had a problem with blury text in PSP. Have used it for many, many years. If you're not new to PSP, you'll find anti-alis discussed in their manuals (with examples) so you can see what the difference is. I've also got PS CS2 and do not see any type of blur issue between the two.

As Tracey said, there is tons of PSP info to include tons of tuts for PSP. I've got so many placed in my favorites I'll will never be able to do them all. If you search this site you will find many people have recommended sites. If you just google, you'll find a ton more.

Have you attempted floating text or the other options? Do you get blur with all of those options. Good luck.
