OK lets try this...
Open your image that has a transparent background and only ONE layer!! You can not have a background layer along with your image layer!!
Then click on Save AS, Options>Select Noninterlaced and Optimized Palette then click on the Run Optimizer button.
Colors Tab: 16.7 Million colors
Transparency Tab: Alpha channel transparency & Exsisting image or layer transparency
Gamma Tab: 45455
Format Tab: Non-Interlaced

See if you have those types of setting in PSP8, I am running PSPX and never used 8!!

Ok I saved your test image to my desktop and opened it in PSPX and it opens with a transparent background!! So it is something to do with a setting on your PSP viewing ability....hhhhmmmm again!

Go to this site and select your PSP8 http://www.jasc.com/support/updates/default.asp and then get the patches you need to see .png's correctly!!
If you have never saved or created a ,png and always used to save as a .jpg then I bet you do not have these!! They will install and work right away into your PSP8 program, you will need to shut PSP down and reopen again!!
Let me know!

Also if you downloaded for web your copy of PSP8 it was sent without these resources, if you want to get them they are here: http://www.jasc.com/support/kb/artic...components.asp

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I had the same problem a while back and I went to to the Corel site and there was a patch for PSP8 I downloaded it and every thing worked fine. Have you tried that? If that dosen't help then I don't know what the problem could be.
