What I don't get is that I have saved some papers 10x10 to my patterns folder but they run anywhere from 1.23MB to very large...60MB. The patterns that I either have downloaded or came with PSP are 117kb to 29.3kb which are considerable smaller in file size!!
If I already have a large MB paper in my scrapbooking files, why would I want to save it again in my patterns folder? I do not really need to worry about space on my computer but I don't want to fill it up with duplicates everywhere either.
I was wondering can you and do you know of a way to make this image smaller in file size but yet contain all the image details of a 10x10 paper (if the pattern does not repeat) and still maintain a good print quality when using it as a fill through the patterns files....
I am not looking for tiling patterns at all....does this make sense?
Thanks,

Thanks,

Not really sure about it. I don't have any paper files that big--most have been compressed and result in significantly smaller sized files than 60MB so I don't have files in my patterns folder nearly that big. For me, I just prefer the ease of being able to call up a pattern in the materials palette rather than having to go through the trouble of finding it in whatever folder it is stored in and opening it, then going to the materials palette and opening it. If the paper is open already, then no big deal, but when I am trying to use multiple patterns that are papers and I have to go and open each one--consider that a pain and it can take a while to open each sometimes. I know it isn't necessary b/c you could do it your way, but it is just the way I prefer to do it. I also regularly make "backups" of all of my folders and then wipe the extra stuff off of my hard drive so it can be as uncluttered as possible. Like I said, it is just easier for me to do it that way. Everyone has their own way of being organized and that is what works for me. I like it.

ok Thank you...I was just curious if you found a way to make these papers into a smaller image file to use as a pattern in the pattern folder.
Most of the papers from designers that I have gotten through .zip files are anywhere from 1MB, 5.6MB and up..the 2 that I played with are 60MB so no most papers are not that big at all...
Again thank you!! ;o)

I know just what you mean. I have been wondering the same thing. Some of my background papers are 36 MB's and up. It takes forever to move them or deform them. I would love to be able to save them, as is, as a smaller file. I have not tried a save as yet-I don't want to hurt anything.
