Is there a way to download many things at once?

I'm not sure if I'm putting this question in the right forum, but maybe someone can help.

I'm a member and LOVE all the excellent downloads, but I'm wondering if there is a way to download multiple files at one time. I have a high speed connection, but it still takes quite a while to download a kit with 10-20 files. Can I speed up the process?

There is a program you can get called downloadthemall that will allow you to download all the files with the click of a button.

Well.. people shouldn't be so lazy and zip up all the files before uploading so you just have a single file to download.. but since not many know how to do this....

You need a program called flashget - with one click of the mouse, it will download all the links on the page. What makes it really fast is that it downloads the file in multiple streams.. so each file is downloaded in 5 parts and then put back together again.. downloads the file 5 times faster..

I have no idea why windows doesn't have a download manager built in at this point... but I always use this program for multiple downloads from web pages.

Go get it and don't look back.. Good Luck!

It is not a matter of laziness.....but rather a courtesy aimed at the realization that not all members have high speed internet access at their disposal.

Well.. in that case.. why not just include the zip file as well? It only takes 20 seconds to create it and will save a lot of time for majority of folks who do have "high" speed internet access.

I would also say that the majority of dial up users are downloading all the elements anyway.. so why not just make an option for one click to get the whole package.

Just curious... how many users are still using dial-up and what are your reasons for doing so? Is it access or cost related?

Pesto, this, too has been previously addressed. The administrator pointed out that that would take up significantly more room on the server--I am not sure if the math is double but if every submission has separate elements zipped and one zip containing all of them the space is definitely more and the administrator, understandably, did not want that.

Supplying a single zip file as well as individual files doubles the upload process not only for the site administrator but also the designer. I think it's easier to be thoughtful to those on dial-up. Don't you?
