YEA!!! Turning off the color management worked, and it wasn't turned on in PSP9. Thank you so much. This makes it much easier to see what colors I am working with.
As for the PSP9 and PSPX not being compatible, I haven't figured that one out. I just opened a folder of calendars that I had made in PSPX and I could see them in the PSP9 browser, but they would not open in the PSP9 program. As for the layout I was working on and had saved to my work folder in PSPX, the image wasn't even visible when I looked into the PSP9 browser. Thank you for all your help! You are my HERO!!

Glad it worked for you!!!
Here is how you make your images open in both programs.
When you are going to save your image you will see an Options Button on the lower right side, click it and then where it says Version Save As: choose PSP9 then it will open in that version and later versions.
So if you want it to open in PSP8 choose that, then it will open in 8 plus later versions.
The only time you willhave a problem with this is if you are working with the new 16 bit colors that are only available in PSPX.
As for all the images that you have saved in PSPX, I believe that you will have to do a new Save As: and then make sure the version box is checked for PSP9.
