Does anyone know how to highlight just a part of a black and white picture in color. Like just one item say red or any other color. I would love to learn. Thanks for any help

This is how I do it. copy your originial photo, close the original so you don't muck it up ... lol,
Now with the copy make another copy.
You should have 2 copies open. Colour one of them greyscale. And copy as a new layer over the colour photo. Now using the lasso tool go around the part you want coloured (on the greyscale photo layer) then go to the edit menu and down to clear. The coloured photo below will show through were you cut out of the greyscale photo.

hth - I'm not the best at explaining!

Basically as above.. you will need 2 layers..
1) Open the picture
2) Duplicate the Layer
3) Convert to B&W or just desaturate, etc
4) Now.. you can either just use the eraser tool to colorize from the original just the parts you want to use.. or
5) Use the selection tools to isolate a part of the drawing and just fill in those spots.. if you go this approach, you can delete the original layer.

Good Luck!
