Go to Corel's site to Download PSPX!!!

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli...ts/AllProducts

If you ordered the download version, download and install the trial version you will see a Already Purchased button click it and then there is a area to enter your product key to register, my did it without a hitch!!!

There also is a new PSPX Newsgroup started over at Corel. And it's full of ideas, advice and questions already!!!

Yipeee we have Print Contact Sheets!!!!! ;o)
The layers palette is so nice and so is the browser that is located now at the bottom of the screen so you can just drag and drop our photo's from there to a image!!!!
The Blemish Remover Tool is too kewl, and we even got a toothbrush for whitening teeth!!
Ok I am off to set up my work space!!!

not literally like that, but what i always do is use the 'print layout' button.
that gives you several options for cells to put pictures in. it lets you drag and drop anything that is currently open in psp. i just print that and still get a 'contact sheet' printed

Well, Tracey, is what Romay described the way you make contact sheets in PSP 9? Please share! When I get home, I'm going to try Romay's instructions.

On second thought, I may just go buy PSP X when I get home.

The way Romay describes it is the way I do it. In PSP 9, if you go to Print Layout, there are various templates already there. If none of them fit your fancy, you can set up your own.

I use print layout these days to print all of my LO. I used to save my LO to a JPEG and print them them through my printing program, but printing directly from PSP 9, I no longer need to save as JPEGS, so it saves me a step (Of course, if I was email, I'd need to merge my layers and saves TIFFS or JPEGS.)

There are layout options for Avery items also -I use their folded cards and that's how I got started using the layout view. I believe in one of my books, it also mentioned printing contact sheets that way. I don't print contacts, so I didn't focus in on it. I run a Canon photo printer and just like lining up everything in PSP's print layout better also. I'm at work, but if I remember, I can double check my book and see if it had an tips on printing contacts.

I haven't gotten my PSP X email yet to let me download my copy.....sniff, sniff

HAVE FUN.

Well Romay you are close...and that is why it was always a pain in PSP to do a Print contact sheet like everyone who uses PS seems so happy to do!!
Can you image adding all the images...I know you can fill cells with an image but only one image otherwise you would have to drag them to the right cells, but here is what I was just told!!
With the Browser is open, use: File-> Print. Now how in the heck has this simple thing remained such a mystery in PSP for so long?? And you can choose the size of your thumbnails to print!!!
I did a google search on Print Contact sheets in PSP9 and almost nothing comes up...
I even serached the forums here and if anything came up, it was that it couldn't be done in PSP9!!!

Doris check out the thread name of this post!!! LOL
GO TO COREL WEBSITE TO DOWNLOAD YOUR COPY!!! Not many people have recieved their email notice yet!!! But it works... I left you a PM!!

What do you think?

Just got the upgrade last night and played around. It did not overwrite PSP9 even though it was an "upgrade." But at the same time it loaded all of my "stuff" from PSP9 into the new folders for X, so I now have PSP9 and PSPX available on my computer for use. I like that for now, but I am sure I will probably quit using PSP9 altogether and get it off my computer.

A few quick comments:

I LOVE the high pass sharpen and the tooth whitener Also the blemish fixer--much easier to use than the clone tool for that purpose (clone tool is still there though, as there are plenty of uses for it).

The setup is a bit different but didn't seem to be too different that I couldn't figure it out. Looks very "Corel-like." (I have Photohouse--old version).

The pictures on the layer palette are pretty neat but I am not sure that I feel they are great. I haven't figured out if I can make them bigger or zoom in, but that would be helpful, b/c sometimes if the content on the layer is small, I can't see what it is anyhow. Still better than scrolling over to see it.

On the downside, those were the only MAJOR things I noticed in the upgrade that were important to me (although I know from Tracy's post that there is now a contact sheet you can make easily, which could be a big benefit to some). I also only haven't played a ton so there may be more to find. But I didn't see much in the way of more tools (makeover and object remover were the only ones I noticed) and added shapes/brushes/etc. Personally I was REALLY hoping for more preset shapes and things like textures.

The color balance tool is different than in PSP 9 but I haven't played with it yet to see if I prefer it. It looks more in depth, I guess, but may just be different, rather than better. Don't know.

I hope this helps people. Those are my *subjective* opinions I would love to hear what others think if they have the new program AND were using PSP9. Thanks!

PicChick..you can increase the size of the tumbnail in the layers palette, but it enlarges all of the layers thumbnails...
File preferences/General/Palettes and the far to the right change the size of the Palette thumbnail to what works good for you.. ;o)
Also if people seem to be missing your blend modes, locking, hiding commands that sit on the right side of your palette layer, tick the Right Pane box..

I didn't find much either in the brushes, tubes preset shapes either...but I also have not gotten the additional downloads yet either...here's to hopeing that some of that stuff is in there...

I have to say I love the blemish tool and the toothbrush works great on the whites of eyes also..hehe just don't brush too hard!!!
