A few q's for the experts..

Hi all, I have a few questions...

Does anyone know where the heck I can buy Virtual Painter filters? Mine came with the Collage and Pastel filters but I'd like at least 4 others and couldn't find them on the Corel website.

Also - not sure if it's been asked before but does anyone have any of the Scrapbooking Edition Xtras and are they worth the money?

And...I was also looking at the Photo Album 5 add on...is that something I can use to search through my files whilst in PSP? I know they had something similar for Photoshop and I thought it was the coolest thing.

I knew I shouldn't have looked on the darn webiste lol. I use v.8 if that makes a difference. TIA!

Hi Donna,

Not sure I cant help you to much with virtual painter but there are some other good plug-in filters available, are you look for some specific ones?

I don't have any of the scrapbooking extras, after looking at all the Scrapbook sites I realized there are so many freebies that I probably wouldn't need to purchase much until I decided what I liked and if I wanted to make my own kits.

I would not puchase photo album 5 if I were you, there is a browse function in PSP9, hope it's in 8, where you see a thumbail of all the pictures. I just organize them under the site and designer. I use psp9 exclusively with some added plugins.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Laurie...yes there is a browse feature in PSP8 but I'm not able to search my "supplies", kwim? I like to be able to see all my staples, stitches etc at once when making a layout...just makes it easier rather than searching through all my files to find the one I want.

That's what I thought, about the scrapbooking xtras..they seemed to be lacking in both quality and quantity.

The filters I wanted were the Watercolour, Impasto, Oil painting and Pointilissm Virtual Painter filters. Thanks

Corel doesn't own Virtual Painter.

Here is their web site

http://www.vpainter.com/prog_feature_p.asp

Didn't look at the price but did check and of course, it runs in PSP. It looks like you can buy the program or the plug-in. They say they have 16 filters!

A friend of mine bought all of the Xtras bundled with PSP last year. She is a newbie to digi scrapping and it was fabulous for her. It is also the way to go if you want stuff already done and grouped into sets ready to **** pictures. The stuff is very nice. Plus you do have the layer options to delete, change or add anything or start from scratch with all the idividual items. The big consideration, I think, is the price.
